Salman Khan earning less for ‘Dus Ka Dum’ than ‘Bigg Boss 11’?

Salman Khan is returning to host Sony TV’s popular reality show ‘Dus Ka Dum’. It has been a decade since season two, however this time the show is looking to be aired daily Monday to Friday instead of weekly.

As much as Khan has been a successful host for the channel’s other hit show ‘Bigg Boss’, it was reported on DNA India that the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017) actor will be taking a lesser pay cheque of Rs 3 crore per episode for ‘Dus Ka Dum Season 3’, compared to ‘Bigg Boss 11’, where he took home Rs 11 crore per episode. A source shared, “For a long time, Salman was keen on returning to this show. However, the channel wasn’t ready to shell out his asking price. But last year, both parties settled on a fee that they were comfortable with.”

“Salman will definitely get more this year and he deserves it too. The channel at this juncture, needs his support. His show has brought Sony decent TRPs and viable star value. The ratings of most of their other shows are hardly impressive. So, getting him back is the need of the hour,” said a source.

Khan’s manager also confirmed the ‘Tubelight’ (2017) actor signing up for ‘Dus Ka Dum Season 3’, but didn’t comment much about his rates. “Salman is definitely being paid more than what he got in the first two seasons. But as a matter of policy, I cannot disclose the exact amount that has been offered to him for every episode of Dus Ka Dum 3.”

The makers of the show have apparently secured Khan for a fourth season, as they propose to only have the seasons on for a short duration.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Khan revealed what he loved about this game show, “I’m me on the show. This is how I am at home too. You can ask my friends and they will vouch for it. I bring my buddies on the show and we have a blast. Guys like Ajay (Devgn), Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and Fardeen (Khan), who are otherwise wary of appearing on a public platform, readily appeared on my show because they knew that it would be a comfortable space and they could be themselves on Dus Ka Dum. We are like a bunch of happy-go-lucky boys-next-door and that’s what connects with the audience. We are as aam (common) as them.”

At the end of ‘Bigg Boss 11’, Khan hinted that it’s unlikely he will host the show again, so with the announcement of ‘Dus Ka Dum Season 3’, it will remain to be seen whether that will be the case.
