Salman Khan doesn’t understand box office maths

He may be one of the biggest Bollywood stars in the country but Salman Khan has not much idea how the maths surrounding box office predictions work.

The actor, who will be seen in ‘Tubelight’ next month was cited in Mid-Day saying, “I just don’t get the math of these box-office predictions. How can one accurately predict the collections of each day before the film releases? A person might not be able to see a film due to various reasons. Someone can face a personal tragedy or someone else can fall ill. So how do you decide the collection of a Friday or a Saturday or a Sunday. You can’t say anything till the time the film releases. Your hardcore fans will watch the film on the weekend, so your collections would be amazing. But, the response your film gets on Friday-Saturday-Sunday is the key to the success of the movie. The film usually drops on Monday- Tuesday, so the eventual lifetime business of the film you will only get to know on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.”

‘Tubelight’ releases at the end of this month.
