Salman Khan sentenced to five-year jail term in black-buck case

Salman Khan has been handed out a five-year jail term after being found guilty in the 1998 black-buck poaching case.

He was found guilty under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act. The Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri branded the superstar a ‘habitual offender’.

Other stars from ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre, were also accused in the case but were given a clean-chit. A fifth person, Dushyant Singh, a local businessman from the area, has also been acquitted.
