Salman Khan centre of row between BJP & Shiv Sena

Salman Khan

Amongst all the other subjects they can’t seem to agree on, news has it that the brawl between political parties Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena has now moved onto arguing about having Salman Khan as a brand ambassador of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

As Deccan Chronicle reports, Khan was given the opportunity to be brand ambassador to the BMC, where he will lend his support in keeping India clean through his charity ‘Being Human’. However, members of the BJP took a dig at both their rival party and the actor. It all started when Asish Shelar, BJP Mumbai President spoke about Khan’s past of cruelty to animals. Referring to when Khan shot 2 Black-bucks back in 1993,  Shelar stated, “How can some accused of killing a Chinkara be a brand ambassador of the BMC?”

Shiv Sena supporters were quick to respond, where through social media they posted images of Khan with Prime Minister Narendra Modi . Apparently, 12 days after Khan had been given the title, Shelar expressed, “I am not against the appointment of anyone but what amuses me is that those who have killed a penguin have appointed someone who has killed a blackbuck.”

Looks like this is one row that maybe taken a little too out of hand. Stay with BizAsiaLive.com for further updates.
