Salman Khan appeared in a Mumbai court today as part of the trial for culpable homicide over a 2002 hit-and-run case.
NDTV reports that Khan’s Toyota Land Cruiser drove over five people sleeping on a pavement in suburban Mumbai. One person was killed; four others were injured.
The prosecution claimed that the actor was driving drunk when the accident happened and that he “ran away” from the scene of the alleged crime.
If found guilty, he could face up to ten years in jail.
The next hearing is expected to take place on 24th July.
