Salman Khan acquitted of all charges in 2002 hit-&-run case

Today was the day that Salman Khan was due in court and not long after he reached, be has been found not guilty by the Bombay High Court.

The actor has been cleared of all charges that he was convicted for in May this year. The High Court said the prosecution failed to establish its case against Khan and on the basis of the evidence submitted. The hit-and-run case has been ongoing for 13 years.

“On basis of evidences produced by the prosecution, the appellant cannot be convicted, no matter how differently the common man thinks,” the court said.

Khan’s lawyer, Amit Desai said the verdict was “very satisfying. It’s a big relief for him.”

Times of India has reported that the state public prosecutor is intending to appeal the acquittal.
