Sajid Nadiadwala is known to be one of B-town’s most well-known producers. However, not many would have seen this coming. News has it that the producer-director may well be the owner of Mumbai’s Filmistan Studio soon, if things work out.

Nadiadwala is currently in between the deal to buy the studio from the current ownerAnil Kumar Tolaram Jalan, according to Mumbai Mirror. There has apparently been talk of the studio being up for sale for a number of years but that Nadiadwala has now approached Jalan with an offer. A source said, “It’s Sajid’s favourite studio having been the founding ground of one of his much- loved directors Nasir Hussain whose films he’s grown up watching. A song, Offo, for his film, 2 States, was shot there. So there’s a sentimental value attached to the property. He’s been in talks with the owner since the last month-and-a-half and they are at an advanced stage now”.

The studio is around five acres and the building is made up of seven floors. It was founded in 1948.
