Sajid Nadiadwala & Aditya Chopra to stay away from OTT film releases?

During the current pandemic, and closure of cinemas, several filmmakers have been looking at crossing over to the OTT platform and streaming as a whole. However, two major production houses want nothing to do with crossing over. The producers in question are Sajid Nadiadwala and Aditya Chopra. And while their stance has not been officially confirmed, sources close to both say that the producers would not budge from their viewpoint.

“Sajid Nadiadwala feels he makes films for the big screen. His last production Baaghi 3 which reached the big screen just before movie theatres downed their shutters was a big success in spite of the virus threat. Sajid feels that to be a sign of how devoted his audience is to the large-screen experience,” says a friend of the producer. The source added that they firmly believed none of Nadiadwala’s films would go to a digital platform, reports Spotboye.

And it appears to be the same over at Yash Raj films. “As of now, no pending or underproduction film of Yash Raj Films is going to the digital platform,” says an informed source.

Despite the pair taking this position, a number of movies are in fact lined-up for release on online streaming platforms. These include Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani’s ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ and Sara Ali Khan and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No 1.’
