Saira Banu: “Amitabh Bachchan is a great admirer of Dilip Kumar”

Saira Banu called Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, a great admirer of her husband Dilip Kumar.

“Mr Amitabh Bachchan had sent flowers and a note on his birthday. He is a great admirer of him, he wishes long and healthy life for him,” Banu told Mumbai Mirror.

Kumar turned poignant yesterday, on receiving the second highest civilian award of Republic of India, Padma Vibhushan from Union Minister Rajnath Singh at his residence in suburban Bandra. ��He was honored with the country’s highest civilian award for his contribution to Hindi cinema which spans over six decades.

Bachchan admitted that he has been a huge fan of Kumar from many years now and called award winning of Kumar, a moment of proud and joy for everyone.��Along with this, the ‘Piku’ (2015) actor praised Kumar by saying, “When the history of Indian cinema will be written, it will be before Dilip sahab and after Dilip sahab.”

Banu acknowledged her husband Kumar by admitting that he has a tendency of doing one film at a time and that too in a time span of two to three years and that his classics had relevant topics and he completely devoted time for his career. Some of the films which she named include ‘Paigham’ (1959), ‘Ganga Jumna’ (1961).

Apart from praising her husband, the actress applauded Aamir Khan and remarked him as an actor who is following Kumar’s legacy currently.
