Saif Ali Khan joins cast of Kartik-Sara’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’?

BizAsiaLive.com reported not long ago that Imtiaz Ali could be bringing together Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan for a reworked ‘Love Aaj Kal’ which originally starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in 2009. It appears that Saif may also feature in the new version.

According to a report in DNA, Saif has been signed for an interesting role. A source informed the publication, “Saif Ali Khan has been roped in to play an important role in the romcom, which will be a sequel to his own hit film with Imtiaz — Love Aaj Kal. This will be the first time that Saif will be sharing screen space with his daughter Sara. It’s not just a cameo but a full-fledged role. He will play the role of Sara’s father on screen as well”.

The makers were apparently on the lookout for someone older. The source adds, “It was the obvious call he made, given that it is Love Aaj Kal 2 and the core idea of the plot remains the same. Like Rishi Kapoor in the original, Saif, too, will have a prominent part in Sara and Kartik’s relationship here”.

At the moment, logistics need to be matched up, “Their combination dates also need to be worked out. So once that happens, Imtiaz plans to roll this film sometime around mid 2019”.
