Social networking has become an integral part of celebrity PR, with almost every actor, director and producer making accounts on sites such as Twitter. However, there are still some celebrities who avoid using Twitter as they prefer their privacy and Saif Ali Khan happens to be one of them. Khan also believes that if he did have an account on Twitter, he would end up showing off his grand lifestyle.
Anything a celebrity says or does is closely analysed most of the time. I don۪t want people to know and scrutinise my every thought, feeling or emotion. I know I can have an interesting Twitter life. But then I believe I۪ll be showing off. I generally hang out at the fanciest of places. I have a superb international private life. I۪m always at the best hotels in the world. So imagine if I۪d say, Hey, I۪m in Los Angeles, having lunch at The Ivy, it۪s beautiful. And I just saw Susan Sarandon sitting here. That۪d be boastful, Khan said in an interview to Filmfare.
When told that sites like Twitter provide a platform for fans to get to know their favourite celebrities better, Khan said, I only want it to be my life. No one else۪s. Some things are better private.
Interestingly, Khan۪s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, has also refrained from joining social networking sites.
