Saif Ali Khan: “Apart from Rangoon, nothing else is signed or rolling”

'Phantom' starring Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is readying himself for the release of ‘Phantom’ and where director Sujoy Ghosh has confirmed that he will be starring in his forthcoming film along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the actor himself has denied that he’s signed on the dotted line. He said that he is definitely doing Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ but that nothing else is concrete as yet. That also rules out the ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ Hindi remake, titled ‘Jugalbandi’, which was being reported about most recently.

Said Khan to Mumbai Mirror, “Jugalbandi’s a nice story and Salman as a producer is a plus, but we’re still working things out. Sujoy and I have to decide what to do. Vipul has the rights to a film I really like, but apart from Rangoon, nothing else is signed or rolling. But news leaks out, people do things for various reasons”.

Talking about ‘Rangoon’, Khan continued, “I’ve done some of my best acting with Vishal and I’m blessed he decided to cast me. At this stage, I hope good directors see some merit in me as an actor”.

Whilst his wife Kareena has apparently said she wants to be a mother within the next couple of years, when asked, Khan’s answer was a little more uncertain, “It’s something to look forward to but not anytime soon. Sara jokes that I’ll go from being a young, cool dad to an old dad”.
