Sahara TV to launch in the UK next year
India’s Sahara television channel is currently in talks with BSkyB regarding its imminent launch on Sky Digital.
The fourth key player (after STAR Plus, Sony and ZEE TV) on Indian cable television will firstly launch its three channels – Sahara One, news channel Sahara Samay and forthcoming movies service Sahara Filmi in the US. The three will be carried by digital platform EchoStar, which also provides other Asian channels such as Sony Entertainment Television Asia, SET MAX, ZEE TV, ZEE Cinema, B4U Movies, Sun TV, KTV and Tara Muzik.
A launch date for the channels to launch in the US has not be confirmed but takes place later in the year. This will then be followed with the Sahara channels launching in the UK early next year.
