Sahara One has abruptly been removed from the Sky Digital EPG today due to Sandy storm affecting the USA.

A statement from the channel told BizAsia, “There is a transmission issue due to Sandy. The channel should be back on air tomorrow [Saturday] The fibre got disconnected due to massive devastation by Sandy”.

The channel’s transmission is based in South East of New York, Long Island, where the storm has hit hard.

Sahara One recently moved out of the premium VIEWASIA package to become a free-to-air channel. The performance has been officially audited by official body, BARB. While the viewing figures have been small, the channel has gathered pace over the past couple of weeks.

Sahara One broadcasts on Sky Digital EPG 817 – currently vacant.

Recently, 9XM suddenly was taken off the Sky EPG without any explanation – its UK agency, World Media Connect has confirmed that it will be coming back and has blamed an unknown error for its disappearance.
