‘Sadak 2’ shooting scheduled to commence in May

With everyone looking forward to the sequel of the 1991 hit film ‘Sadak’, fans will be pleased to know that producer Pooja Bhatt, has scheduled the film to go on floors in May.

With Sanjay Dutt returning in ‘Sadak 2’, according to Deccan Chronicle, he will be the first to start shooting for the film, where his unconventional co-star Alia Bhatt will join later on. When the cast was announced, many eye-brown raised with the pairing of Dutt and Alia, and apparently, even Dutt himself was concerned in being cast opposite the young actress. However, as reports suggest this will not be a romantic pairing.

“They will share a very unorthodox relationship in ‘Sadak 2’. No boy-meets-girl here,” a source was reported stating. It went on to add, “In fact, Sanjay who turns 60 this year, confessed to Mahesh Bhatt that he felt awkward being cast with Alia as he had been cast opposite Alia’s elder sister Pooja in ‘Sadak’. But there is no room for awkwardness in ‘Sadak 2’. The equation between Dutt and Alia is very clear and non-romantic.”

Film-maker Mahesh Bhatt, who was the man behind the first film, had never been afraid to reference his films towards social issues, and ‘Sadak 2’ will be no different. “‘Sadak’ was about combating prostitution. ‘Sadak 2’ will tackle another social issue,” a member of the film’s team was reported stating. ‘Sadak 2’ will also see Aditya Roy Kapur playing a pivotal role.

This will be the second time Dutt, Bhatt and Kapur will share the screen, after their recent release ‘Kalank’ (2019).
