Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is reportedly set to play himself in a biopic currently being planned.

According to Times Of India, Mumbai-based production company 200 Not Out has acquired the rights of the film. Apparently, London-based award winning-writer, director and producer, James Erskine has been roped in to direct the film. The report adds that work for the film started a year ago and Tendulkar gave the nod to play himself in the film.

The film will be tracing the life and times of Tendulkar who retired in 2013. It will cover Tendulkar’s life from his childhood in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park to romance and marriage to Anjali, to awards, rewards, records and worldwide glory achieved from playing cricket for 25 years.

Ravi Bhagchandka, the founder of 200 Not Out, says the film will be a worldwide release in more than 2000 theatres.
