Sachin Shroff on wife Juhi Parmar: “She was never in love with me”

It came as a huge shock that television’s popular real-life couple Sachin Shroff and Juhi Parmar were ending their eight year marriage.

Parmar, who has spoken about their troubled relationship in various interviews, has taken sole custody of their five-year old daughter, Samairra.

For the first time, Shroff has spoken out in an interview with Times Of India. He said, “The divorce happened with mutual consent, amicably and in a dignified manner. Unfortunately, and by Juhi’s own public admission, she was never in love with me. One-sided relationships are doomed from the beginning. It’s said, ‘It’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all’. But the fact is that it hurts to have been in a loveless marriage. Nothing I did could make Juhi love me.”

He added, “I have ensured that I get proper visitation rights in the consent terms. I want my daughter to have two happy homes instead of a single, unhappy home. It is heartbreaking to not live with her, but I would rather have Samairra see us apart and happy. It’s better than us living together for the sake of convention, buried in bitterness and fights.”

Despite the rocky relationship, Shroff has not given up on love. He said, “I am more realistic now and I realise that love must be two-sided for a relationship to be successful. It’s too early for me to think about another relationship or marriage. I am still healing emotionally, as I was deeply in love. Let God decide my future. I look forward to the rest of my life with optimism and happiness. God been kind and good work has been keeping me busy and focused.”
