Sachin Parikh on playing Aakash in ‘YRKKH’

Sachin Parikh is playing a cameo role in Rajan Shahi’s ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. The actor, who plays the role of Aakash, says that he is integral to the story. “I’m playing Swarna’s brother Aakash in the show. He is a low profile, poor fellow who has helped his sister Swarna to keep a big suspense till now from her in-laws. Her real son Shubham is brought up by Aakash, his mama. Shubham, (Gaurav Wadhwa) is entered the show along with me. So I’m kind of playing a catalyst to make him enter the house and how the entire suspense unfolds in front of everyone,” he says, adding, “It’s interesting characters because the creatives of the show have given me a brief about many things happening in the show with the help of this character.”

The show has been on air for a long time and is loved by the audience. Talking about how it feels to be part of it, Parikh says, “It’s fun to be part of the oldest running show. Actually, when I got a call from the production, I had come from Dagdu Sheth Ganpati darshan in Pune. Plus, it was by Rajan Shahi with whom I have worked in past in ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’. I like him immensely because he is one of those TV producers who involve himself personally in each and every decision. He had believed me and loved my negative shade in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge in past and I was glad he remembered me for this again. So there was no reason for me to say no.”

The actor adds, “I believe it’s important to do a good work. So for me being part of a hit or a flop show doesn’t change much because I’m here to put my best in everything I do.”

While he has just joined, Parikh shares a great rapport with the rest of the cast. “I’m still very new to the cast of ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. I am working with Gaurav and Parul Chauhan, they both are great co-actors and immensely talented, he says.
