Sabras Radio’s longest serving presenters, Faruk Razak has passed away.
The legendary presenter has been at the station since establishment, proving to be a much-loved personality and presenter who will surely be missed by his colleagues and listeners. He was known for his daily ‘Mid-Morning Show’ and his incredible work behind-the-scenes at the station. Razak presented his show earlier today but tragically suffered a heart attack a few hours later.
Sabras Radio announced the sad news on-air at 20:00 this evening. The station has announced a special ‘Faruk Razak Day’ on Tuesday 29th March, with music and clips of Razak’s shows being played throughout the day. Phone lines will be opened throughout the day for listeners to pay tribute to the institution that was, Faruk Razak.
A message on the station’s website read:
“It’s with great sadness, Sabras Radio announces the death of our beloved Faruk Razak, who fronted the Mid-Morning Show & much more. He passed away late afternoon on Monday 28th March.
Faruk Razak, an institution in his own right, had been a part of Sabras Radio since its launch in 1995. Sabras Radio will be celebrating the life of Faruk Razak with a special ‘Faruk Razak Day’ all day on Tuesday 29th March, with clips & listeners tributes live on-air. Studio lines will be open for listeners to pay tribute to Faruk, who was loved by thousands.
He presented his final show on Monday 28th March.
