Sabras Radio’s Alpa to leave after 13 years

Sabras Radio’s Breakfast presenter, Alpa Pandya will be leaving the station after 13 years.

Alpa has been presenting the station’s Breakfast show for the past nine years. She announced her departure from the station this morning.

Alpa said, “We all need to move on and grasp opportunities that come our way. It’s the right time for me to leave Sabras and to pursue other goals in my life which I am very much excited about.

Sabras has given me a platform to showcase my talent and it has been a great 13 years here. I am now looking forward to new ventures in my life and continuing to work within Radio which is an absolute passion of mine. I will miss my listeners dearly as we have become and grown into one big family over the years, however all good things come to an end and each ending has a new beginning – with that in mind I would like to thank you all for your support your well wishes and for being loyal listeners.”

With a huge passion for music, films and arts, Alpa made the natural progression into Radio back in 1994 with BBC Radio Leicester (Now BBC Asian Network) as a programme assistant & eventually as a co-presenter.

After three years Alpa left the BBC to take time out and pursue other activities, until two years down the line when she was offered a job with Leicester based Asian station Sabras Radio, where she started off with presenting the Saturday Breakfast show.

Alpa’s last Breakfast show will be next Friday (20th April).
