Sabras Radio to air Cannes 2016 coverage

The Midland’s most popular Asian station, Sabras Radio will become one of the first commercial Asian radio stations to broadcast officially from the world-famous Cannes Film Festival.

The station, with its official accreditation will bring listeners live reports from the French Riviera, which kicks off this evening with Woody Allen’s ‘Cafe Society’.

Sabras Radio presenters, Raj Baddhan (Drivetime), Kash Kumar (6-2-8 Show) and Missy B (Desi Look) will be representing the station at the festival. As well as live reports, the station has packaged a special programme, which will be broadcast during the month. Plus, Sabras Radio’s social networking sites will broadcast live elements from the festival. There will also be exclusive images and video reports uploaded regularly.

Sabras Radio’s Operations Manager said, “It’s great to know that Sabras Radio will be one of the main Asian radio stations from the UK covering this year’s Cannes Film Festival. We’ll be bringing our listeners the fuller experience so they don’t miss out on the action there. We’ll certainly be connecting our listeners to their favourite stars at Cannes 2016.”

The first Bollywood star to walk the Red Carpet will be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Friday and Saturday, while Sonam Kapoor, Frieda Pinto, Mallika Sherawat and Amy Jackson will also be attending over the next few days.

Rajamouli and Shobu Yarlagadda will lead a discussion on virtual reality (VR) at the March̩ du Film, a film market event taking place alongside the festival. The Kabir Bedi narrated movie ‘Mount of Excellence’ will be screened on the 19th and 20th May. Saurav Rai, a student of Kolkata�۪s Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), will showcase his 28-minute Nepali-language diploma film ‘Gudh’ (Nest).

Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ team will be the Bollywood highlight – getting its official screening. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be at the festival to promote the film from 14th May 2016.

As a part of the classic movies line-up at the festival, the 1959 Pakistani film ‘Jago Hua Savera’ will be restored.
