Sabras Radio ties up with UTV for ‘Don’ specials

The Midland’s most listened to Asian radio station Sabras Radio has scooped a big promotional deal with UTV’s forthcoming magnum opus, ‘Don’.

The Shah Rukh Khan movie, which releases this Diwali/Eid at cinemas around the world will be Farhan Akhtar’s first directorial in two years. His last two releases ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Lakshya’ proved hits at the box office.

The deal between Sabras and UTV is a major coup for the Leicester-based radio station. Sabras has already aired an unreleased theme track from the yet-to-be- released soundtrack (out on 23rd August). In days to come, Sabras will be airing more exclusive tracks ahead of the official release.

Beside music, Sabras Radio will be airing exclusive competitions, interviews and news on the film over the next two months prior to release of Don۪.

In return, Sabras Radio’s logo will be plastered all over ‘Don’s’ promotional material. This is the first time Sabras has tied up with a movie of this magnitude, Raj Baddhan, who is overlooking this project commented;

“Of late Sabras Radio has been experimenting with innovative ideas to take the station forward and this is a principal one. It’s great to be associated with a movie like ‘Don’ , which everyone is awaiting with bated breath. A world exclusive of a teaser track from the film was aired last week on Sabras. In the weeks to come, there will be more excitement in the offing. ‘Don’ is, unarguably, this year’s much awaited movies and we will ensure taking the buzz around the movie to the next level.”

UTV has previously worked closely with the BBC Asian Network on publicity of some recent UTV biggies like ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Taxi No.9211’, ‘Bluffmaster’, ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’ and ‘Chup Chup Ke’.

Sabras Radio will begin its ‘Don’ spectacular on Wednesday 23rd August. It will also air specific shows on sister station Sanskar Radio to coincide with Diwali. Sabras Radio is available online and on 1260AM in the Midlands and on DAB digital radio. Special contests and material will also be relayed on Sabras Radio’s London feed on 558AM.
