Sabras Radio joins ‘Backing The Blues’ campaign

Leicester based Asian station, Sabras Radio has officially joined the ‘Backing The Blues’ campaign, getting right behind Leicester FC in the Premier League.

The station, teams up with BBC Radio Leicester, Leicester Mercury, Leicester City Council and numerous other organisations in the city with a special day to celebrate Leicester FC’s magical run this season. On Friday 29th April, prominent buildings across the city will be lit up in blue, with activities taking place by each organisation.

Sabras Radio will also be lighting up parts of its building in blue for the occasion. Presenters on the day will be seen in blue attire. Plus, the station will be playing celebratory music throughout the day to celebrate Leicester’s achievement so far this season. Sabras Radio has also organised special blue food and drinks – with Indian sweets being coloured in blue and mocktails/slushes being given away to listeners at the studio. The studios are also being decorated with a welcoming blue carpet and balloons.

Raj Baddhan, Operations Manager, Sabras Radio said, “This is a historical moment for Leicester and we have put something small together to express our support for the team and the city. It’ll be a fun-day with what we have lined up for our listeners. It also feels great to be working with other media outlets in the city on this huge campaign.”

Leicester FC sit 7 points clear on top of the Premier League, with Tottenham in second place. On Sunday, Leicester FC can win the title if they beat Manchester United.
