Sony Pictures Networks’ light-entertainment channel, SAB TV has suddenly disappeared from the Freesat EPG line-up.

The channel, which has been available on the DTH satellite platform since 2012, was available on channel 660, until midnight on Tuesday 26th January. This now leaves just, Colors, Rishtey and Islam Channel remaining in the International category. Freesat has also removed the SAB TV logo from its website.

Since the exit, viewers have emailed BizAsia regarding the channel’s sudden departure. A spokesperson from Sony Pictures Networks confirmed to BizAsia that the channel will no longer be available on Freesat. The move could be connected to the broadcaster’s restructuring plans after its parent company Multi Screen Media was rebranded to Sony Pictures Networks late last year.

SAB TV continues to broadcast normally on Sky Digital.
