Rumours escalate on Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ being postponed

Yash Raj Films’ much awaited next release ‘Pathaan’ is reportedly facing delays after the censor board requested tweaks to certain scenes.

The film has been embroiled in controversy after Deepika Padukone was seen in a saffron-coloured bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’. Shah Rukh Khan and Padukone have both been threatened by netizens and certain cult groups after the song hit the tube.

The trailer of the film was expected to be released this week. Film critic Kamaal R Khan took to Twitter to say that the film will be delayed with a potential name change. He said, “Today #PathaanTrailer didn’t release and it’s proof that whatever I said few days ago that is truth. @iamsrk has decided to change the title #Pathaan! I said on the day of announcement that this title is wrong. But SRK refused to listen to me. Finally he is forced to listen to me.”

He further stated, “It’s confirm that #Pathaan title is no more. Orange bikini is also no more. But now makers have decided to postpone the release of the film. Official announcement can come today or tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi said, “The film recently reached the CBFC examination committee for certification. The film went through the due and thorough examining process as per the CBFC guidelines. The committee has guided the makers to implement the advised changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version prior to theatrical release.”

Yash Raj Films is yet to comment on the developments. ‘Pathaan’ releases on 25th January 2023.
