Rumour: First UK TV awards to be held in October

The first ever UK Asian TV awards are rumoured to take place in October, BizAsia has heard.

While details are sketchy, BizAsia understands that the awards will be held in London. If true, then these will be the first awards dedicated to UK Asian television.

In 2010, Star TV had announced the UK Asian Television Awards (ATVA), which were due to take place in June 2011 but did not actually happen. Similarly, The Indian Post had announced something similar, which were touted as the first independent television awards in the UK. Again, these did not happen.

The first Asian Media Awards launched last year and gives recognition to successful personnel in UK TV, radio, press and online.
