Rumi Jafry had no knowledge of Sushant-Rhea break-up

In the aftermath of the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, filmmaker Rumi Jafry has confirmed that he was supposed to do a film with the actor and alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty which was due to commence shoot in July. Jafry has now revealed that he had spoken to Sigh Rajput and Chakraborty together at the start of June. He says he wasn’t aware that their had split, which other reports had suggested.

Jafry was to make a romantic comedy with the rumoured couple and has said he was on a call with them both about it. He told E Times, “He never told me about it, and Rhea, too, did not say anything of the sort. The last time I discussed this project with him was in the first week of June. They were together on the call. In fact, it was Rhea who got him on the call. Then, on June 12, I had messaged him, and he was very excited about the project”.

The film was expected to wrap before November. When asked whether this was because they were due to get wed, Jafry said, “I am not aware about the marriage bit. I got to know about it through the news media”.

Singh Rajput sadly died of suicide on Sunday. Chakraborty was seen visiting the hospital to pay her respects.
