Rubina Dilaik: “Romance is when Saumya looks up in adulation towards Harman”

Popular television actress Rubina Dilaik has spoken about her award-winning show ‘Shakti’, which continues to do well in ratings on Colors.

The actress, who plays Saumya opposite Harman, by actor Vivian DSena, said she was happy with the way the love angle is portrayed on the show. She was aware the romance was a lot more different to other romantic shows but said it was the small things that added the chemistry between the two characters.

Talking to Raj Baddhan on Sabras Radio’s ‘Drivetime’ show, Dilaik said, “I feel there is already so much of romance in the show. Romance isn’t necessarily the lovey dovey rosey picture that generally Indian films and TV portray. Romance has different shades. Romance is when Saumya looks up in adulation towards Harman. Romance is how Harman looks after Saumya and how he regards and accepts Saumya as someone different with so much warmth. This kind of romance is somewhat refreshing and we don’t need songs in the background and dupatta flying. Our romance is our own unique romance.”

In the interview, Dilaik also spoke about her work with DSena and performance on the Golden Petal Awards, which air on Colors at the end of this month. Dilaik also touched upon her journey in the industry since her first show ‘Choti Bahu’.
