RT channel set to disappear from UK screens

RT, formerly known as Russia Today, is set to disappear from UK TV screens imminently.

The channel, which broadcasts on Sky in the UK, will be turned off as a result of EU sanctions.

The signal for RT comes from a satellite operator in Luxembourg, which will be instructed to remove the channel as soon as EU sanctions are signed off.

RT broadcasts on Sky channel 511. It is expected to be blacked out before being removed completely from the EPG.

On YouTube, RT has been blocked in the UK and Europe.
