Roy Kapur Films announces eight new series for 2022-23
After the successes of ‘Rocket Boys’ and ‘Aranyak’, Roy Kapur Films have confirmed that they have eight more web-series coming in their slate between 2022-23.
A military story web-series will mark Vishnuvardhan’s series debut after the success of his directorial ‘Shershaah’ last year. Aside from this, Malayalam director Mahesh Narayanan will be seen helming a spy thriller. Business families at war will be the subject of Hardik Mehta’s series and Abbas Tyrewala will be presenting a spy drama on counter intelligence. ‘Cargo’ director Arati Kadav will be presenting a sci-fi romance and Bhavesh Kapadia will be giving the audiences a female-led comic thriller series. Anubhav Chopra will be directing a school drama and Nagraj Manjule will present a series on illegal gambling.
“These projects are set across different genres, eras, concepts and themes. The last two years have witnessed an exponential surge in the consumption of OTT [streaming] content. There is an increased hunger for unique and differentiated entertainment across platforms, and we are ready to fulfil it”, said Jinesh Shah, from Roy Kapur Films, to Variety.
Roy Kapur Films also has a few films coming up, as well as the second season of ‘Rocket Boys’.
