Round-up review: 'Main Tera Hero'

Director David Dhawan directed his son Varun in this week’s, ‘Main Tera Hero’, release which also stars Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D’Cruz. While the film had an average opening, reviews have been a mixed bag. BizAsia is taking a look at what the reviewers have been saying.

Raedita Tandan, Filmfare, says, “Main Tera Hero is a good weekend watch with your family, girlfriend or gang of friends. This is pure popcorn entertainment made for hero worshiping masses. And the silver lining is Varun Dhawan, a treasure chest of talent. The next big hero waiting to happen.”

Hindustan Times‘ Parmita Uniyal concludes, “Varun Dhawan has passed the test and is graduated with distinction from Student of the year to Hero of the hearts.”

Saibal Chatterjee, NDTV, writes, “The story, which is clearly only a pretext to hang the film۪s many gags on, delivers frantic twists and turns that strain credulity”.

“A timepass of a movie, it can be watched once. Only wish Dhawan had taken some risks rather than sticking to the age-old formula that worked for him eons ago,” says Shubha Shetty-Saha of Mid-Day.

Will the movie sustain through the weekend at least? Stay with BizAsia to find out.
