Ronnie Screwvala: “‘Tejas’ is not a sequel to ‘Uri’”

When the makers of ‘Uri’ released the first look of their next film ‘Tejas’ in February, Kangana Ranaut’s styling as an Indian Airforce pilot sparked rumours that the project could be a sequel to ‘Uri’.

Producer Ronnie Screwvala clarified the rumour in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, “We wanted to make a film about the army so ‘Uri’ (2019) happened. ‘Tejas’ is not a sequel to ‘Uri’, because that was a true story and this isn’t. but it is on the same lines and on the same scale.”

‘Tejas’ is directed by Sarvesh Mewara and will release in April 2021.
