Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ release delayed again?

Rohit Shetty’s much awaited action thriller ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been forced to delay its release again due to the rise in coronavirus cases across Maharashtra.

The film, which was due to release on 30th April, is expected to either premiere online or have its cinema and digital release simultaneously at a later date. ‘Sooryavanshi’ was first mooted for release in March 2020 but was put back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A source told Times of India, “With the suspension of night shows due to night curfews in cities like Mumbai and an atmosphere of uncertainty, it’s a huge risk for a big budget film to release in theatres at this point. Given people’s safety concerns, the film is unlikely to release on April 30.”

The source added, “According to industry insiders, the makers are contemplating on a couple of options. The film can either opt for a direct OTT release, simultaneous theatrical & OTT release or OTT release in 14 days after theatrical release.”
