Rohit Shetty: “No one can take Ajay’s place”

Currently enjoying being on cloud 9, Rohit Shetty is the talk of the town. With the mega success of ‘Simmba’ (2018) starring Ranveer Singh, he seems to have hit the mark with everyone. However the film maker has said that no matter where he goes from here, his real success will always lie with his ‘Singham’ (2011) Ajay Devgn.

“No one can take Ajay’s place. He’s been a great support system to me. Whatever I’m today is because of him. Other than that, I’m working with a lot of people and making new friends. Ranveer is like a younger brother. But Ajay will always be special. It’s not about the kind of performer or the star that he is, it’s not a comparison between two stars or heroes. He is like my elder brother and that can never change,” DNA India report the film maker expressing.

The end of ‘Simmba’ marked the introduction of Shetty’s forthcoming film with Akshay Kumar titled ‘Sooryavanshi’. Talking about the project, Shetty expressed, “Yes. We will finalise the script shortly. We’re working on another instalment of ‘Golmaal’ and planning something else too. I’m juggling with three-four things. I will direct one while the rest will be our production.”

Looks like Shetty has his hands full for the next few months, and if things carry on the way they are, it may well be the year of Rohit Shetty.
