Rohit Shetty on making a biopic on Sania Mirza

Rohit Shetty, who has helmed several blockbuster films like the ‘Golmaal’ series, ‘Singham’ series, ‘Chennai Express’ (2013), and many more, recently expressed his interest in overseeing a particular biopic.
Shetty is currently judging a reality show called ‘India’s Next Superstars’ alongside filmmaker Karan Johar. On the set, the duo showed a keen interest in making the biopic on ace tennis player Sania Mirza, reports Deccan Chronicle. Shetty stated, “There should be a biopic on Sania. The fact that she continued to play for India even after her marriage (with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik), gives me goosebumps.”
Earlier in an interview, Mirza was asked about a biopic being made on her. She was asked if she would star in her own biopic, to which she responded saying: “I don’t think so. I would choose Parineeti Chopra.”
Shetty is currently busy with his upcoming action comedy ‘Simmba’, starring Ranveer Singh. The film is scheduled to release on 28th December.
