Star Plus’ popular show ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’ is set for change after Ritvik Arora, who plays the second lead was ousted.
A report published by PinkVilla says that the decision for him to leave was over pay hike demands. The actor, who plays Kunal Rajvansh, is expected to be replaced. Sources say that when a production member of the show got in touch with Arora, he directed them to his father. It is said that Arora asked for almost double the amount in what he was already receiving.
Producer, Rajan Shahi told the publication, “What’s really wrong is the way he communicated it saying, ‘Don’t even think of calling back if you want to negotiate.”
He added, “If an actor wants to opt out of a show, we totally understand. But the behaviour of unprofessional people, who hold a production house to ransom, should be called out.”
Arora claims that there has been some miscommunication and misunderstanding and that his father did ask for raise. He said, “There is absolutely no reason for me to leave the show because it’s such a good opportunity. This is a case of miscommunication and misunderstanding.”
Shahi was quoted saying that it is not what one demands but the way you demand. He concluded by saying that such “unprofessional” behaviour would not be tolerated.
