Riteish Deshmukh-Pulkit Samrat starrer ‘Bangistan’, has been banned in Pakistan. The story of two fictitious suicide bombers has been banned due to sensitive storyline. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani will fight the ban and would like to show the film to the Pakistan ministry to show that the film is not anti-Pakistan.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Sidhwani stated, “Basing their judgment on the trailer alone, they have decided that the film is anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslin. If anything, it’s anti-terrorism and since Pakistan is as much a victim of this global menace as any other country, it is their interest to screen the film. Its message is that it’s foolish to give up your life for a cause you’ll not live to fight for. I’d like to show the film to the ministry and the censor boards to prove that out intentions are fair. The promotional video doesn’t reflect the content. Our story is set in a fictitious country called Bangistan.”

Sidhwani has applied for visas for himself, the director Karan Anshuman and lead actors Deshmukh and Samrat. The film is slated to release on 31st July.
