Riteish Deshmukh has replaced Kapil Sharma in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bank Chor’.

Last week, it was confirmed that Sharma and Yash Raj Films were mutually parting ways due to reasons unknown. The film will be going on the floors immediately and released early next year.

Ashish Patil, Business & Creative Head, Youth Films, Brand Partnerships & Talent Management at Yash Raj Films said, “Riteish is one of the most exciting actors of today. From villainy to action in his upcoming Lai Bhaari, there’s nothing he can’t do! And with Bank Chor, Riteish is in a zone that’s a serious strength – comedy! He adds the scale, madness and weight that this project deserves. The audiences are in for one helluva ride now!”

Deshmukh said, “Loved the script. Loved the character. Loved the team. I’ve always liked to push the envelope with the choices I make. This film allows me to potentially rip it apart. Watch out there’s a new Bank-Chor in town!”

‘Bank Chor۪ is a comic-caper, that tells the story of 3 morons trying to rob a bank who pick the worst day possible when everything that can go wrong, goes wrong and how they۪re inadvertently caught in the crossfire of cops, industrialists and corrupt netas. Bank Chor۪ is directed by Bumpy and produced by Ashish Patil.

Deshmukh has been riding high on the success of ‘Ek Villain’ recently.
