Rita Payne leaves BBC after nearly 30 years


Veteran broadcaster Rita Payne is leaving the BBC World Service after 29 years.

Payne who started at the BBC World Service as its radio news sub editor, eventually went on to join BBC World TV as producer of Asia Today and BBC World’s Asia editor.

She was recently elected Chair of the Commonwealth Journalists Association.
