Simi Garewal has re-launched popular show ‘Rendezvous with Simi Garewal’ for which the star of yesteryear invited former co-stars and much loved couple Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor to shoot the pilot episode, in Melbourne. The duo spoke at length about their lives including Rishi’s perfunctory relationship with his son, Ranbir.
Commenting on their relationship, according to Deccan Chronicle, the ‘Mera Naam Joker’ (1970) actorshared, There۪s a wall between us. There۪s a glass between us. We can see each other but not feel anything. I had a fear of my father. I was in awe of him. I had great respect for him. It took him a long time to say have a drink in front of me. I used to call himsahab. Now that we don۪t live under one roof, there۪s more communication. He talks to his mother more than me. But I don۪t think Ranbir will be a father like me.”
Neetu Kapoor made a startling revelation which seemed to further highlight the estranged relationship shared by her husband and son,ʉI was away for a few days and Ranbir was home. I kept calling him to ask how۪re you doing. He said I۪m fine, I۪m having dinner with papa and all that. So when I got back, I was like how was it? He said we had a few quiet moments. He said koi baat hi nahin huyi. Hum dinners pe jaate thhe aur khana khate thhe. I have to be there in the house for a conversation to happen between them.
