The BBC has announced schedule details of its new service BBC Radio Bradford, which goes live on Monday 7th December 2020.
Announcing the line-up, the BBC said Rima Ahmed will front its Breakfast show, while Sanchez Payne will follow between 10:00 until 14:00. The service will be available on 774AM and online between 06:00 and 14:00 weekdays. BBC Radio Bradford will air local hourly news bulletins.
Ahmed won the BBC New Voices search last year and is currently fronting ‘Make A Difference’ community bulletins and Girls Power Hour.
Ahmed said, “It’s thrilling to be given the chance to present the Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Bradford. This has been a long time coming for the city and it’s the listeners who will really own the show.
“We want to talk TO the people of Bradford – not just about the people of Bradford, as is so often the case. To be there when the city wakes up is going to be a real honour. I can’t wait to be your alarm clock, Bradford!”
BBC Radio Bradford is expected to remain on-air until March 2021, as a part of the BBC’s service for the local community during the coronavirus pandemic.
