Karan Boolani better known as Rhea Kapoor’s boyfriend, was supposed to make his directorial debut with an action film titled ‘Saath,’ produced by Kapoor. The film was initially titled ‘Saath Hindustani’ but was renamed to ‘Saath’. Anil Kapoor had confirmed that ‘Saath Hindustani’ was only a working title.
Boolani had started working as an assistant director in 2009’s ‘Wake Up Sid’ and then as an assistant director for Kapoor’s debut production ‘Aisha’ (2010). According to Mid-Day, a source from the industry has said that the film was supposed to be shot in parts in the US, and Visas for the crew were also approved. “The Visa was done for around 50 people and the crew was to leave in November end. But due to the extreme weather conditions in the US the unit couldn’t leave for the shoot.”
Another source, also says that the film is in its pre-production stage, and the weather is not permitting the shoot to take place immediately. “The film will be going on floors soon, it’s under pre-production. Due to extreme weather conditions the unit didn’t leave for the US. Now the makers are trying to figure out a time when they can go shoot. The director wanted to shoot the film in a particular matter.”
‘Saath’ will star Divyendu Sharma and newcomers yet to be introduced. Other productions under the Kapoor banner were both Sonam Kapoor starrers, ‘Aisha’ and ‘Khoobsurat’ (2014.) While ‘Aisha’ did well, ‘Khoobsurat’ was a moderate hit.
