Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea rejected; sent to judicial custody for 14 days
Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea as been rejected after she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drugs probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
The actress was arrested under sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27 (a), 28 and 29 of the NDPS Act. She was granted 14-days judicial custody but her lawyers application for a bail plea has been rejected by the court.
A NCB official revealed that they will not be seeking Chakraborty’s remand custody as they had sufficient information over their three-day interrogation. The remand copy suggested she had procured drugs for Rajput. It said, “During statement present respondent Rhea Chakraborty revealed about her involvement in procurement of drug and financial transaction. Therefore, it is clear from statement that respondent is an active member of drug syndicate connected with drug supplies.”
