RGV confirms Huma Qureshi not a part of ‘Arrest’

Rumours recently suggested that Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘Arrest’ would star Abhishek Bachchan and Huma Qureshi. However, the filmmaker has since confirmed that the latter will not feature in the film.

Varma told TOI, “She is not a part of the film. It is more of a guy’s film. There will be a leading lady but she doesn’t have a prominent part”.

He also spoke about the role Bachchan will be playing in the film and clarified that it’s not based on a real life person, “Abhishek plays a cop in the film. The film is not based on anyone’s life, it is a completely fictional story. It is something related to the cops… It partly has a connection to underworld but the story is set in today’s times, it is set in modern times, the issues are different today”.

The film is expected to go on the floors soon.
