Revealed: Reason why Gurmeet Choudhary was replaced in ‘Hate Story 3’

Gurmeet Choudhary - Khamoshiyan

There’s been a lot said about the third part of erotic thriller ‘Hate Story’ and now the director of the film has opened up on why television actor Gurmeet Choudhary was dropped from the film.

Mumbai Mirror reports that first choice Sharman Joshi had departed from the project due to “date issues”. He was then replaced by Choudhary but now Vishal Pandya reveals that Joshi is back in and Choudhary is no longer a part of the film. Reason? Pandya said he wanted a “performer” hence his decision to re-cast Joshi for the role.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Pandya said, “Sometimes you take a wrong decision in a hurry. That’s exactly what happened. The film was getting delayed and Sharman had date issues. Also, while working on the third draft of the script, I felt that Sharman wasn’t the right choice for the role and so decided to cast Gurmeet believing that since he’s a new face it would help my movie. Eventually I realised that I need a performer and that’s why we approached Sharman again. Luckily, he agreed and the date issues too were sorted out.”

Joshi will be joined by Karan Singh Grover in the film. ‘Hate Story 3’ goes on the floors next month.
