Revealed: ARY Network EPG slots on Sky sold

Further to our exclusive news break earlier this evening of Geo Network acquiring one of ARY Network’s old EPG slots on Sky, BizAsiaLive.com has exclusively learnt the names of the other two EPG slot buyers.

While the liquidator is yet to officially announce the sale of the slots, BizAsiaLive.com understands that US broadcaster, JUS Broadcasting UK Pvt. Limited won Sky EPG 791 on auction. Apparently, the bid went up as high as nearly £350,000. If this channel launches as planned then it will be the third Punjabi entertainment channel in the UK after PTC Punjabi and ZEE Punjabi.

The old ARY QTV slot on EPG 804 has reportedly been acquired by an unnamed consortium – led by a group of investors, who together bought the slot to launch a new Asian service. Other details of this service are yet to be announced.

As revealed earlier, the old ARY News slot on 802, has been acquired by Geo Network. However, the broadcaster is yet to confirm the developments and what it will be using the slot for. Read here.

So with the last of ARY Network’s traces now disappeared from the UK market, it remains to be seen how these three contenders will make use of the old ARY Network EPG slots. Will they be able to achieve the same success as ARY Network or more importantly is ARY Network paving its way for a comeback to attend to some unfinished business?
