Republic TV founder Arnab Goswami arrested by Mumbai Police

The founder and Editor-in-Chief of India’s leading news channel, Republic TV, Arnab Goswami has been arrested by Mumbai Police.

Goswami was arrested in connection with an abetment to suicide of an architect who designed his studio. Anvay Naik who died by suicide in 2018 reportedly left a suicide note in which he blamed Goswami for not paying his fees.

Naik’s wife has been campaigning on social media seeking justice for her husband’s death.

Since his arrest, Republic TV has accused police of “manhandling” Goswami’s family members.

Tensions between Goswami and Mumbai Police have flared since the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Goswami has been vocal about the handling of Rajput’s case by Mumbai Police, on his TV show.
