Release dates in Bollywood are forever changing, more so if many big budget films headlining big names are slated for release in a single month. One film which has been postponed is Rani Mukherji’s next.
‘Aiyya’, also starring south star Prithviraj, was supposed to release on 28th September 2012 but has now been postponed by a month, and will now hit theatres on 26th October 2012, just in time for Dusshera.
The reason for the change was believed to be the amount of film releasing in September, but Sanjay Kundalkar, director of the film told IANS, “Yes, we were supposed to release our film on September 28th, but now the film has been pushed back. There is no specific reason as such. It is a collective decision taken by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18”. He went on to add, “I am not really done with the film. The editing is going on full swing”.
‘Aiyya’ tells the story of a Marathi girl, played by Mukherji, falling in love with a Tamil artist, played by Prithviraj. It is a quirky and funny love story with the backdrop of a West-South cultural clash.
