Afterfive years since her debut directorial, ‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd’ (2007), Reema Kagti is back with a very different genre of film. ‘Talaash’ has Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor andthe director feels more than compassion for their work.

During the music launch of ‘Talaash’, Khan and Kagti told reporters of their experience working with each other for the film. It is known that Khan gets involved in more than just the acting in his films, and expressing her gratitude towards the actor, NDTV report Kagti stating, “Aamir has given creative inputs. I appreciate that. He was quite respectful of my vision. He tried to bring his best. And with Kareena and Rani also in, it was a dream cast.”

Khan was also quick to respond about how he felt about Kagti as a director, “I have worked with lady directors in the past including my wife, Deepa Nair and now Reema… it is always great to work with them. It is irrelevant whether the director is male or female. She is perceptive of performances, I was guided a lot by her. I saw her demanding as well as open, I could trust her instincts.”

Apparently, Shah Rukh Khan was the first choice for the male lead. When asked about this the actor explained how he didn’t know anything about it, and Kagti hit back stating, “I would not like to talk about things that did not work out. This happens in films. I am happy with main and secondary cast of ‘Talaash’.”

Looks like all’s well that ends well. Jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Excel Entertainment, ‘Talaash’ will hit the screens on 30th November.
