Ravindra Gautam on ‘Meri Durga’ going off-air rumours

Producer Ravindra Gautam is proud of his show ‘Meri Durga’ and how well it’s doing. He says that he has never got bothered by rumours of the show shutting shop and doesn’t let all this get to him. “I just dust them off. So many years of survival in this industry, amidst cut throat competition has taught me to ignore rumours. Why pay attention to such nonsense?” he says.

The producer adds that many times the websites which write these items, don’t even cross check facts with him. “Journalism has become like this mostly. They don’t believe in research or the authenticity of news. They just want to grab eyeballs at any cost. Ethics are passé for them,” he says.

Gautam says that he is satisfied with the show’s performance and has a lot of surprises planned for the future. “Durga is doing very well as you can see from the TRPs. It has taken a lot of hard work to achieve a 1.4 at a 6.30 slot and that too with a sports themed show. Since inception, Meri Durga has been a slot leader. Apart from being a popular show, it’s also critically acclaimed. The coming weeks promise much more drama as Durga finally sees her dream of becoming a national champion come true, fighting all odds,” he says.
